American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds

The City of Mountlake Terrace has approximately $6 million in federal COVID recovery funds through the American Rescue Plan Act, known as ARPA. About $500,000 of that has been spent on utility bill assistance through a program coordinated by the Volunteers of America Western Washington.

The remaining funds need to be designated by the end of 2024 and used by the end of 2026 under rules from the U.S. Treasury.

Mountlake Terrace, like many cities, is still reviewing what to do with these funds, including potential partnerships on regional issues.

The city conducted a community survey on this topic in 2021.
